We’re hiring a full-time, seasonal Field & Facilities Technician based out of our Lee’s Summit headquarters — and if you’re someone who takes pride in a clean worksite, a mowed lawn, a swept barn, or in creating and maintaining a beautiful outdoor environment, this might be your fit.

If you’ve ever asked yourself, “What kind of outdoor jobs in Kansas City let you work with your hands and think for yourself?” — we built this job with you in mind. It’s especially suited to those who prefer to work independently (yet can still work in a group at times), enjoy quiet focus, and find satisfaction in creating order and beauty without needing a crowd around.

đŸŒŸ About the Role

This is a hands-on position focused heavily on property upkeep, lawn care, and equipment cleaning and service around our excavation headquarters. One minute you might be organizing tools in the shop, the next you’re mowing, trimming, or pressure washing a machine.

You’ll work solo a lot. You’ll move between projects. You’ll manage a checklist and be trusted to get things done — no micromanaging, no drama.

🛠 Day-to-Day Includes:

– Mowing, edging, and landscape maintenance

– Cleaning up around shop, barn, and driveways

– Greasing, fueling, and washing equipment

– Light barn upkeep

– Running errands or staging materials

– Working from seasonal task lists and managing your time independently

đŸ’” Pay & Perks

– **Pay based on experience**

– Weekly pay

– Full-time hours (seasonally)

– Training & safety certifications provided (OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR)

🧠 This Role Is for You If:

– You like working outdoors and don’t mind getting dirty

– You prefer working alone or in a small crew

– You take pride in what you touch

– You stay busy, even when nobody’s watching

– You’ve worked in landscaping, on a farm, with small equipment, or doing facility work

– You’ve got a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation

✅ A Few Musts:

– Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly

– Have reliable transportation to and from work

– Comfortable working around machines, tools, animals, and dirt

– Willing to wear safety gear and follow jobsite rules

– Can pass a pre-employment drug screening if required

📘 Experience:

We’re open to people with all types of experience in outdoorsy hard work environments. If you’ve done landscaping, farm work, or construction, that’s awesome. If not, but you’re willing to learn and work hard, we’ll teach you what you need to know.

We’ll also help you get certified in OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR if you don’t already have those.

If you’ve been searching for a job where you can work with your hands, stay outdoors, and think for yourself — you might find a home here.

Note: Our blog posts are written from within the company. Sometimes by one, sometimes by many. Sometimes, they are like a friendship quilt in which everyone puts forth effort. They are not a result of a social media manager typing into artificial intelligence asking for a 900-word blog post, followed with copy and paste and calling it good. If Cami’s writing
. sentences are sometimes long and the thoughts bounce around. If Cali’s at the keyboard, nothing will be spelled correctly for sure. And if Cadi’s typing away, you’ll get “to the point” and probably spelled correctly. Yes, a lot of C names. Needless to say, clients don’t hire us to write for them (not yet, at least. We are interested in technical writing in our industry if anyone’s looking to hire us and provide housing in a warm winter climate- Only half kidding, of course.) Thanks for showing interest. The goal is to meet clients here and assist business owners on the same journey as us if we can.
